Hey all! I'm running a special on studio photo shoots! Just in time for the holidays. Get pictures taken of you for your family. Get them taken of your family for you. For a loved one. Or maybe just pictures of yourself, for yourself because you are just such a lovely person!

For just $40/hr (60% off the standard price!), you too can have wonderful pictures taken in my beautiful studio in Lowertown St Paul! I have some extra time before the real craziness of December begins and I want to fill it with pretty faces! You have to act fast though, as this deal is only available through Tuesday, December 1st!

For more samples of my work and to find out my information about what I do, please visit my website at Photosynthetique.com

SGMS
IMGP3908 copy

Sorry for the long wait everyone! The SGMS photos are finally available! I'd write something about what a great time I had working with you all, what beautiful models and designs I was witness to all night long, how well I thought everything ran (no small feat with that many designers and models!), what a wonderful job the makeup artists and stylists in making everyone so pretty, and a bunch of other really nice things but I'M SO TIRED. My apologies. I'll try to be more eloquent tomorrow after I've slept. For now, I will simply allow my images to do the talking for me.

BUT before you go getting all link-clicky, here's the fine print stuff that you should read first.
You CAN download the images from my flickr account and use them in your online portfolio, on your Facebook, Myspace, Blogspot, Facespace, Mybook, and Myblagofacespacebook.
You CAN NOT crop the image in such a way that when it is viewed fullscreen my watermark is missing. I accept that this will happen with small icons.
You CAN print them out for whatever reason, but I really don't recommend it as the images on this site are low quality.
You CAN contact me about getting a high resolution copy of the image, I have very reasonable prices for student designers and models.
You CAN become a fan of my work over on Facebook because you think I rock, but that's up to you. ;)
You CAN totally contact me if you are a stylist or makeup artist and would like your work to be tagged on Flickr. Just let me know which images models you worked on appear in.
You CAN contact me if you're looking for portraits, headshots or any other portfolio-building images taken. Information on that here.
You CAN also contact me if you're looking for a wedding photographer, because I do that as well. That information is here.
You CAN see most of these same designers showing new designs, as well as an incredible show at "Children of the Revolution" put on by The Libertine Asylum. Register early before tickets are gone!
You CAN all be totally awesome people that I'm happy to be able to work with.

That is all! Now go! Enjoy!

(insert text here about the absolutely gorgeous wedding of my beautiful cousin Jaclyn and her incredibly awesome husband Cam, that was held in one of the most amazing places I've ever had the pleasure to visit. This text would be here if I wasn't so incredibly tired and dreading having to be up in a few hours.)

Enjoy!

Selected images from the entire set can be seen here: My flickr account

BTW, if you like my photos you can become a fan of my work here on Facebook.
If you or someone you know is looking for a wedding photographer, you can find my information on my wedding site.

Good news! Although the original five slots in the Libertine Asylum fundraiser special have been filled, it has been extended by two slots! To make it even more awesome, whoever gets these two extra slots will have their photos taken by the amazingly talented Carla H of Fairshadow Photography! Fairshadow Photography is a frequent collaborator of both Photosynthetique and the Libertine Asylum, and you can find out more about Carla's work here: Fairshadow Photography

She's an incredible photographer and she's going one further by offering these two extended slots at a deep discount of just $40 for the same two hour special! So if you're not already committed to 1 of the initial 5 slots, this is your last chance to get portraits done at an unbelievable price. Contact me via email, phone or FB message, or contact Carla at ladyfairshadow@gmail.com. I'll keep everyone updated as these slots fill up!

Thanks for the incredible level of interest, everyone!

Fundraiser

To help support the Libertine Asylum's November event entitled "Children of the Revolution", I am offering a special discount on my services.

Any standard portraiture shoot, on location or in studio for two hours. Just $50. This is a $140 value. I only have five slots open, and I will be updating this post as they are taken. Your purchase of this time will not only get you beautiful pictures, but also help support alternative fashion in Minnesota!

Note that even if you choose studio, there are many great locations immediately around the studio itself where we can shoot so that you have a variety of both studio and location photos! Whatever your idea may be, I look forward to making it a reality with you!

I can be contacted via email (drayke@photosynthetique.com), phone (612-703-5125), or via Facebook message (Photosynthetique on Facebook.).

Update 10.04.09: Only one slot left to fill! If you're interested, now is the time to email, call or Facebook message!

I've never hidden the fact that I'm a huge Rammstein fan. In fact I remember ordering Herzeleid back when it was only available by getting it from Germany direct because there was not yet an American version. They've always been a little graphic, but this new single though, is uh, weird.

I've put both the video and single cover behind an lj-cut because neither is safe for work in any way. Consider yourself warned.

Meet Jesse "Perfect Robb" and Katie, my newest clients. I've known Robb (I've known him as "Perfect Robb" since high school, so it's hard to think of him using his real first name) for a long time, and I met Katie on the set of "Record of Abraxas", the short film by BokBok Productions. These two were meant for each other, Robb being a movie producer, her being an actress and they're extremely cute together. It's easy to see the chemistry and they were really fun to hang out with while shooting their engagement photos. I'm very flattered that they chose me as their photographer, because I know that they have several photographer friends whom they could have easily taken over me. Thank you, you two! :)

I've posted a few from that session here, if you'd like to take a look. Otherwise, here's a couple of my favourites.

Dorky first photo from studio

Hey, I had to do something in there after getting that bloody backdrop set up! Also, getting a heavy seamless paper backdrop installed is more work than I thought it would be.

I've finished the photos from Briana and Corey's wedding. What a wonderful time! I hope that if they are reading this as I post it, having just returned from their honeymoon today, that they had an absolutely beautiful time together and that they love the photos I've taken for them. :D

I'm sharing with you a few of my favourites just because I can. If you want to check out the selected images from their wedding, you can go here. I've chosen not to post the entire set as it's kind of fun for the couple to find more great photos on their disc when they get it!

Because what would an enlightened child of the 21st Century be doing otherwise?

(Seriously, though, expect this in a few years. I'll be damned if any child of mine isn't bitten by the writing bug. Although I've allowed my own talent to flounder in recent years, I will not allow hers to do the same.)

Here's the bonus sky photo, because I love clouds and my 1000 word pictures have taken the place of my latent writing talents.

Megan, Kyri and Molly really big, because why the fuck not? Megan's last night in public here in Minneapolis before moving to Seattle, WA. We're all going to miss her. Minnesota has truly lost one of the most talented designers, and although she will continue to grace us with her talent, the Asylum is truly lessened for having lost one of our core members in a local capacity. We miss you already, Megan!

Tonight also featured a lot of females making out and grabbing each other's boobs, so if you're into that kind of thing, you missed out!

See you next week at the official monthly Chamber meetup!

What a great time! "Le Cirque Libertine" had it all! Balloon experts! Cotton candy! Photo booths! Glass eaters! Belly dancers! Burlesque dancers! Fire! Awesome music both live and pre-recorded! If you weren't there, you need only ask yourself "Why do I hate fun so much?"

I'm a very visual person (quite obviously), but I can tell you that the pictures don't do it justice! It's like many stories, it's just better if you were there. That didn't stop me from trying to capture it anyway! This post has a lot of exclamation points!

If you missed out on "Le Cirque Libertine", be sure not to miss some of the other awesome events coming up, like "Schoolgirls and Mobilesuits" at MCAD on September 25, or "Children of the Revolution" on November 13! Watch this space for details.

Whole set here, as always.
